A good way to meet local runners is to participate in a parkrun. Drumchapel parkrun is held in this area.
Knightswood Park Track is a track close to Whitecrook with a soft surface that is open to the public. It should be usable year round.
Those wanting to run on a hard surface and are willing to go a bit outide of Whitecrook can go to the course of Drumchapel parkrun.
