Check all schedules before coming here expecting to run during the 'public hours' since there are often tournaments and games going on in the stadium. Lane markings and inner brim are quite worn down from all the traffic that the town sends this track since most tracks in the town aren't friendly to the public, so everyone being corralled onto this track has done its damage. If you want to social distance, come at less-common non-school hours, because everyone and their grandmas walk clockwise in lanes 1-3 with strollers, sometimes perpendicular to the lanes, when you are doing your interval workouts or time trials. It's like the obstacle course that I never knew I wanted!
Lighting is technically available, but is ridiculously expensive -- call Town of Cary if you want specifics. It's a generic asphalt track located in basically Morrisville that gets brutal heat build-up on sunny days due to unstrategic lack of foliage and has a massive headwind around the final curve unless a bus is parked in that alcove. Not a great choice for the only technically-listed public track in this large town, but it's at least something.
